“Hu.ga” is the phonetic transcription of the Danish word “hygge”, which expresses a feeling of coziness, comfort, affection and intimacy.

 

Just as for us Brazilians the word ‘saudade’ does not have a precise translation in other languages, the Danish expression hygge cannot be translated either.

 

A possible attempt to explain ‘hygge’ is that of a concept that may be close to a state of intimacy of the soul.

 

The “Hu.ga” choreography also celebrates the meeting between Brazilian and Danish cultures. The guest cast from Koma Ballet, Alberte Mouritsen and Severin Raun, join the dancers from Cia Jovem de Jundiaí to bring this unique experience into stage.

 

The choreography is signed by Alex Soares, artistic director of Cia. Jovem de Dança, in close collaboration with the cast.
